Hayley horse back riding

We took the Girl Scout troop horseback riding. Hayley was unsure at first. Can't say I blame her since she looks so little on that huge horse! She had fun time. They played 'red light, green light' on the horses! The girls learned how to groom the horses and with what tools, their feed they eat and how much they poop a day! Hayley and I are finished with Girl Scouts. We need to cut back activities and see what fun after school activities she can be involved in at school this fall.
Gma & Gpa pulled in here last Friday around 9:30pm. Great timing for them!! We were all glad to see them! We've had fun going out to eat, house hunting =), the kids' ball games, and hanging out at home and chatting. We've had 'girl time' and 'boy time' and it's fun to chat about gal stuff, flowers, books, etc. I'm glad it's a relaxing get away for them. Tomorrow we're going to Ky to Mammoth Cave and do some sight seeing.
Our neighborhood pool opened last weekend. We've been down twice now and the kids have a blast! Hayley, Brent & Maddy have goggles and sinkers and they all are fish and love to go under water and play! Maddy can actually touch this year in the shallow end. We'll be spending endless hours this summer down there!!
This week is busy with Fun Day's at Brent & Maddy's school, Hayley has a school picnic on Thursday and Brent has a picnic on Friday and Hayley's class has a play on Friday too.
Hayley went to the ortho last week and she will be getting her full set of braces July 8th!

More pic's

Brent & Zachary-they attend our church and Scott & his dad Jason are friends. Hayley & Katie-they are on the same softball team and Katie is our neighbor a few doors down. And then Maddy with her licorice!

Reds game

We went to the Reds game last night. It was alot of fun and they won 5-1! It cooled down to 70 degrees when the sun went down-it was a great night to be out! They shoot off fire works when there's a homerun hit.
It's awesome to be in the open stadium. That's the Ohio River and across it is Kentucky.

Catch Up!!

Wow-I can't believe it's been 2 wks since an update! Let's see, what's new...........sports, school, fun. I chaperoned Brent's class to the science museum. Very fun. We saw Dinosaurs at the Imax. Cool, but made me a bit queasy. Brent loved it though! We had lunch and walked around the Natural History section. It went quick as the kids' attention wasn't there for seeing some old relics. Just been busy with games just about every night and Sat & Sunday's.
I had a good Mother's Day. We pulled out 3 bushes and planted some flowers and sod. We were outside most of the day and grilled steak-YUM!
Hayley had 2 girls from class over last Saturday to decorate flip flops, play Wii and just hang out and have fun. Hayley's toe is just about healed. She bumped it last weekend and it seemed to bleed but it's been doing great. She's been playing outfield and catching in softball.
Wednesday I volunteered in Maddy's room and as I left, the office called for me to come down. At am recess, Brent had fallen flat on his back. He was climbing and the playground was slightly wet since it had been raining in the am. He slipped and fell and had the wind knocked out of him but it seemed to be more than that as he was saying his chest hurt. He was trying to hold back the tears. I took him home and we went to the dr for xrays and he's ok, just bruised. It hurt him to breath deep. He took it easy the rest of the day.
Wednesday some neighbor girls and I went out for our Girl's Night out which used to be Bunco. We went out to eat-bison burgers and appetizers. We watched Idol-poor Danny was voted off! The kids couldn't believe it! I came home and Maddy had a cruddy yucky cough so she stayed home Thursday. I'm glad she did because she ended up with a fever and slept all afternoon. Friday was TLC which Kindergartner's have the day off so she had another day to relax. She's better now, just a little cough left.
Brent and Hayley had games yesterday and Hayley again today. This week it's more games and we're going to the Reds game on Wednesday for a fundraiser for Loveland softball/tball/baseball.
Grandma & Grandpa are coming on Friday for 2 wks! The kids have their countdown started! They'll be here for Maddy's bday and to celebrate Father's Day and see the kids' games, end of school parties, etc. The kids have 2-3 days more because of the extra 'calamity' days as they call it from the storm last fall and snow days.
Well, I must run, Scott is home with dinner. A late one tonight! Here are pic's of Brent at baseball.

She's BACK!

WOW! Hayley played in her softball game yesterday!!!!! YEAH! She's been bummed that she can't play. Her toe has healed so much even since Tuesday's Pod. appt. And she did AWESOME on the field!! Her first at bat she hit a line drive thru 2nd baseman and shortstop. Everyone cheered her on as this is her first hit of the season!! She made it home as the girls can steal bases this year. Her 2nd at bat, she was hit with the pitch so it's an automatic to 1st base. The ball grazed her shirt enough to move it but I don't think it hit her or at least not very hard. She was so happy! She stopped a couple ground balls and backed up the shortstop. Hayley is glad to be back in 2 shoes! She's using my glove this year! How funny is that? I've attached the lastest pic of her toe. I can't believe how much it's healed!!
We went to church yesterday and off to Hayley's game. After Hayley's game we went and played family softball at a field near us.
Happy Anniversary-12 years this year! Love you hubby!! We went out to eat after our family game-we had wings and ice cream to celebrate!!
Saturday Brent had baseball pic's and Hayley had a game. It was after that that we decided maybe we'd let her play since her toe looked great. We grilled cheeseburgers for dinner-YUM and watched a movie.
Friday I went to Granny's garden sale (thru school) and bought some flowers, picked Hayley up at school and went to a carnival to raise money for a fellow 4th grade girl that was diagnosed with leukemia earlier this year.

Tball

Maddy had a game last night. She did very well! She played shortstop and catcher! Brent said shortstop was good for her because she's short =) She looked like a storm trooper from Star Wars =) with all of her catching pads on I didn't get a good picture then my battery went dead. The helmets are a bit big. It started to rain at the beginning of the game but ended and the sun came out. As Maddy was running home, she has a huge smile on her face!
My Endoscopy went well. The dr was running a bit behind (I guess that can be a pun) since I found that he also does Colonoscopies! Those who are having Endos done, we can leave our pants and shoes on. Those who are having the other get to bare all! Two of us were having Endos and the rest were the 'other.' The nurse started my IV-not fun. Scott came to keep me company then he went to pick Maddy up from school. I was wheeled in and the dr wanted me to roll on my left side while the anethesiologist (sp?) had 2 needles behind me. I was very concerned with this since I wasn't sure where they were going to put those =) In my IV-that's the sleepy drug. I've had gas to put me out. So we joked that I had my pants on which was good so the dr wouldn't mistake me for the 'others' and what they were having done! Stay above the waist! Before I know it I was getting droopy and then I woke up. The nurse started to talk to me to tell me I was done. From what I could hear, I was not alone in the recovery room. I heard a man's voice and the nurse talking to him about needing to pass gas. Obviously he was having the 'other' done. I hadn't even opened my eyes and I hear him passing gas! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Not to be childish, but it was funny and unexpected. So, long story short, my Esophagus had shrunk and the dr widened it. I could tell when I ate yesterday that I didn't feel the food scraping down (potato chips) like I used to. I woke up feeling fine with the drugs they used. Scott, Maddy & I went out for lunch =) and came home to relax. I didn't have pain except for when I laughed last night. So all's well!

This week-

We had a quieter week this past week. Games/practices were rained out! Though by Thursday it was sunny and 70 and by the weekend it was 85 degrees! We finally turned our air on on Sunday as it was 85 degrees in the house!

Friday am after my bible study, I took Maddy to rent High School Musical 3, Beverly Hills Chihaha and Australia for me. Madison LOVES HSM and Troy =-) she has watched that movie everyday, sometimes twice a day since. I know the theme for her bday and what she's getting! Anything HSM! Friday afternoon Scott went golfing (last minute plans) and Friday night I went to scrapbook.

Saturday am Hayley scrimmaged another U10 team-she was the bat girl! I think she really wants to get out and play. Soon hopefully. Then it was off to Brent's game. They lost by 2 but he had fun. We went to Subway and ice cream after. It was a HOT game!

Sunday Scott went golfing.........again..... =) but he took Brent with him. Brent had a BLAST-he got to golf, drive the cart and had fun with the guys! He wants to go again. Hayley had another scrimmage then it was off to home and relax.

Yesterday I volunteered in Hayley's library then off to home to get ready for our book club meeting plus Maddy's game, plus Brent's makeup game from last week, plus Scott was supposed to start softball with the church league plus Hayley was supposed to get fitted for her cheer uniform! Needless to say, Maddy & Brent's games and book club were all we could squeeze into the night. Brent won their game and Maddy did AWESOME in her first ever tball game! She was so cute in her pigtails and visor! I have a picture of her-I'll post soon.

Today Hayley had an appt with the podiatrist. Her toe looks amazing! Well, it's not red and beefy anymore. I think there was still gauze stuck to her toe from our ER visit but it was hard to see it thru the blood, etc that was on her toe. As she has stopped bleeding, been healing and taking a shower, I think the blood has washed off the gauze and it's starting to heal off her toe. It might not make sense-it's late. Anyway, the dr took a scalpel and cut off the gauze and it came right off! Her toe is deformed but it's healing. I'll have to take a picture tomorrow and post it too. She has a little 'crater' that's still 'wet' but I think the gauze sticking actually made a little band aid to help it heal. Around her toe you can see where her skin was ripped off by the force of the board pulling the yucky part of her toe off. She has a follow up in 3 wks. She is still to wear her special shoe, but we're healing-YEAH!

I think that's about it. It's late and I'm tired. I have my Endoscopy tomorrow-can't wait for it to be done!!!!!!!
