And then Maddy........

Santa was good to Maddy too. She got a Littlest Pet Shop play set, some Barbie stuff/laptop. She got a gift card for Justice too, Webkinz, books and the Polly Mall! Oh Maddy and her beloved Polly's! She must have screamed at opening every present! Such excitement =) It's wonderful to see the thrill of Christmas in your child's eyes. Is there anything better?
The house was smelling of wonderful turkey! We continued to play and enjoy being home while dinner was cooking. We ate around 3 pm. I made 10 potatoes to mash! All for ME!! No, I didn't eat them all in one sitting. The kids didn't eat much of them, Scott had some. We made sweet potatoes for Scott. Yuck. We had 'safe' apple and pear bubbly too! We forgot buns, so I made some from scratch! They were yummy! It was Thanksgiving all over. We had a wonderful dinner and played games after. It was weird not being in Mn for Christmas but it's been great to enjoy being here and home for Xmas.
So here's hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and holiday season! I can't believe the New Year is upon us. I have a few things on my list for 2009 to do. Embrace the mornings and get up before everyone! LOL I have a new coffee/espresso maker so that will be a treat! This fall Hayley will be in 5th grade at the middle school and get on the bus at 7:05-UGH! for both of us!! I don't think I'm a morning person and want to be. I want to journal everyday-I've started this already. It's fun and a great release and fun to look back on. I want to walk........Jake does too =) I'm lucky I've kept off my 15lbs I lost a few yrs ago and want to keep it that way and maybe lose more. Just be healthy inside too. I want to continue down my spiritual journey and grow in it. I'm glad I have found my faith and I'm excited and feel comforted with Him in my life. I want my family and friends to be blessed in 2009, keep them safe, healthy and happy. Know I love you all! Everyday I'm so thankful for the friends and family I have. May the Lord wrap his arms around everyone I love and keep them safe. I'm thankful for all I have and am sure to know this everyday. Being a mother, grown person, life/kids can be trying but I'm thankful I have family. My kids have made me grow and the experiences have made me learn about myself. I have the best husband a girl could ask for and the best kids-I'm so proud of them.
Have a blessed and Happy New Year!

More Christmas

Brent was so excited to see what Santa brought! He got some books, gift card, Webkinz, radio and jerseys!! Gpa sent a Tavaris Jackson jersey and we got him an Adrian Peterson. The #7 is very fitting for him!! That was his #. He's very excited about them and that may be all he wears! As I'm writing this, Jake is laying by me in the sun, snoring! After we opened presents, Scott got the turkey in the oven and we played with the kids and their toys and hung out and took it easy!

Christmas Day!

Christmas is FINALLY here! Christmas Eve we went to church. The power was out, it was windy here and raining. The power came on as church was starting. After, we went to our neighbor's-the Baker's. They were having some people from church that live in our neighborhood over for dinner. Very yummy!! The kids played. We came home and let the kids open 2 presents. Maddy & Hayley didn't get to sleep until 10:30-too excited for xmas! Brent fell fast asleep. Brent & Hayley were up at 5:15 am! We got out of bed around 7 or so. Maddy was still sleeping. Then finally it was time to open presents!!! Hayley got some clothes, gift card from her favorite store-Justice. Another favorite Garfield comic book and some more clothes and Webkinz! She had a great Christmas! Jake got a new squeaker and bones from Santa =) He likes his Mr. Squeaker as he's affectionately called!

The 'Santa' talk

Well, we finally had to break the news to Hayley that there is no Santa. She's been wondering about the tooth fairy for a month now and lately questioning Santa. She was hesitant about making a list because she's not sure what to think about the bearded man flying around with reindeer. We discussed it with her and her reaction was 'I Knew It!' There was almost a sense of relief for her. We told her to keep it to herself and when the time comes for Brent & Maddy, let them believe until then. We told her the same about the tooth fairy. She was starting to figure it out. She even put her fairy money back under her pillow to see if she would come to see if she was really real!

Little Mary!

Hayley's musical at church was great! She (and they) did a wonderful job! Hayley was a little nervous but did great! It's been a long weekend with rehearsal yesterday from 9-noon and a performance at last night's service and both services today. She's so cute! We're proud of her for getting up there and performing. She really enjoys it and choir.

Buddies.......

We were watching a movie and Jake went and snuggled up with Maddy. They have become quite the pals =) She called him and he went to her and layed down. He likes to snuggle.

What a week!

Yuck! The stomach flu has been going thru our house since Monday night! Maddy started not to feel good and got sick Monday night. Tuesday, she wasn't feeling well and neither were Scott or I. I started to feel better Wednesday and Scott and Maddy are still mending. Hayley came down with this last night and Brent has it a little. We're all home today recouping and it's back to school tomorrow-for Maddy & Brent anyway. Scott's at work and we'll see how Hayleys' doing. She's Mary in our church's Christmas play this weekend. She needs to get better! It's hard to Christmas shop when there are sick kidlets about! Disinfecting wipes are the best! The kids have their holiday parties next week so everyone needs to get better!

Brent will be playing flag football starting in January. He's excited! A friend from his football team asked if Brent wanted to play.

Hayley has some softball batting practice/skills sessions she'll start here in January too. Possibly a pitching skills session also. It's been a nice break from sports but time to do something again.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday season!
