Happy Birthday Madison!!

Finally it's summer! The kids were out of school June 2nd and they're loving being off, no homework, staying up late :) The kids had field days, picnics, fun days the last week or so of school. We went to Cheeseburger in Paradise for Maddy's bday! Our favorite place to go. She got Spongebob lego's, new bike, sock monkey (she loves sock monkey's). We came home and had cake. She had a friend party at our pool. Happy Birthday babe!

Brent starts box lacrosse next Sunday. It's a summer league. He's done with baseball and the girls have a few games left. Hayley's taking another session of volleyball. She loves it and is going to try out for the 7th grade team.

Spring Break!

Spring break was a ton of fun! We stopped in Nashville for 1 night and went to the Hard Rock Cafe and walked around downtown-very cool! On our way to Gatlinburg, we stopped at the Grand Ole Opry. We didn't take the tour but we at least got to see it and walk around the gift shop.

In Gatlinburg, there's blocks of stores we bummed around in. We went to the Ripley's Aquarium, Ripley's Believe It or Not, went mini golfing. Lots of cool stores and neat restaurants. We went go carting a couple times. The kids had a blast (we did too!) We drove up into the Smokey Mountains and only saw a fox and wild turkey's. I wanted to find a bear but no. It was a little chilly but still fun. It was great to get away!

BRENT SCORES!!!!

YEAH!! Today Brent scored his first Lacrosse goal!!! It was so exciting to see and he was so pumped after about it!! The pic above is him scooping the ball and he turns and throws it in!! It was amazing! The Tigers won 5-3. It was a great game! He's a great defender/attacker-that's what pos'n he likes to play best. He played 3 out of 4 qtrs. We met some friends after at the Hofbrauhaus downtown Cincy/KY. It's along the river on the KY side. It's a German restaurant where there are long tables and bench seats. There's a guy playing an Acordian and singing. The pic's are of the kids doing the chicken dance. Everyone stands on their benches and does the chicken dance!! It was awesome!! HUGE biers (as they spell it)-real German size. Real German type food they serve. Lots of brats, sauerkraut (sp?), and other German foods. It was very good. The kids had a blast too! What a great day!!

Brent's basketball team won the championship! They played and won Friday night and played Saturday and won!! This is his team. On Sunday he had his 1st Lacrosse game. It was a tight game and they only lost by 1. Brent is #48 orange.

FINALLY!!!!

Scott has broke down and bought a new truck!! We've been looking for a few weeks and he's found he really likes the Ridgeline. He just picked it up today and it's beautiful! The kids' can fit in the back too! These are the pic's from the dealer webpage. Scott's pretty excited!

Brent has a Lacrosse game this weekend. He's liking Lacrosse. His bball team made it to the playoffs-undefeated their team is. They won the 1st game of the tourney and they play again tomorrow.

I joined a gym close to our house. I'm really liking it. They have classes-I took Zumba the other night and it was AWESOME!

Well, speaking of Lacrosse, I need to go and bring Brent.

Brent's #12 in the orange-he's blocked in the left pic, standing in the middle and him turning/running on the last pic. He seems to really like it-something different. They've won 1 game and lost the 2nd-only by 1 point! He's one of the taller kids-great for getting rebounds. It's fun to watch him!

Well, we're off again today. We were supposed to have a 90 minute delay but that changed to 'closed.' Maddy & Brent were excited-Hayley's not up yet :) Not surprised-she has teen sleeping habits. Plus her light was on last night so I think she was reading one of her new Nook books. We broke a record yesterday. We got 5.6 inches of snow. We didn't have snow before-it melted last week. So that's all we have and broke the 4.8 inch record. It's pretty cold, so the streets froze. It's warming up after today again back in the middle 30's. Great day to be off! Now we've used our 3 snow days, so we better not need anymore.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, snow day

Happy 2011!!! We had a terrific xmas! Gma/gpa were here! Santa came with all kinds of gifts-Legos, sock monkeys, etc for Brent & Maddy. Hayley got a phone and a Nook!! I think she had a great xmas ;) It was fun to hang out with gma/gpa over break. Went to lunch, ran fun errands, etc. Jake got a new squeaker too. We played Tripoly and Apples to Apples on New Year's eve and everyone stayed up to see the ball drop!

Then it's back to school..........we had a 4 day week last week and this week. Today we're off for a snow day and we hadn't gotten any snow and they called a snow day. It's been snowing now all day and we have about 6 inches.

The 2nd qtr is over in school. Hayley has all A's and Brent & Maddy did great too! I can't believe the year is 1/2 over.........where does time go?

Brent starts Lacrosse next week. They have clinics for a few weeks and then practice starts. With all of his pads, etc he looks like a football player!

Happy Holidays!!

Here are late pic's of the Trick or Treat-er's! Hayley and her friend went as Mario and Luigi. Brent was a horror hockey player (yuck) and the pirate. They got lots of loot!

We went and cut down our tree a few weeks ago! When we had NO snow. Brent helps Scott cut the tree down. The kids are home today for their 1st snow day. They had a 90 minute delay earlier this week. We had gotten 4 inches last weekend and during the night last night it snowed 4 more inches. It's funny how 8 inches of snow is a ton for here! There are lots of closings-church, schools, etc. It's supposed to snow some during the day. Our temp is in the 30's or close to- it's not so bad out-the kids have been out playing. The temp will stay in the 30's at least until next week so hopefully it will melt.

The tree 'plantation' where we get our tree has Reindeer and these fat, little mini sheep or goats. Hard to tell they're mini little muffins. I couldn't resist them!

The kids are great. We all had strep in the last few weeks. Scott was the only one who didn't get it. Brent is loving basketball ;) It's fun to see them try new sports. He's playing baseball and lacrosse in the spring. The girls are taking the winter off. Hayley's in student council and she starts science club after xmas break.

We had a nice Thanksgiving. We cooked up a wonderful turkey, potatoes ;) and lots of other goodies and watched the parade and football.

Gma/Gpa are coming for their 1st xmas here. We're all excited for them to come!!

We're finishing our xmas shopping. And enjoying the holidays. We can't wait for xmas break!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to our favorite pumpkin patch again this year. They had a new field of sunflowers and they were beautiful! We took our hayride out to the patch, kids picked their pumpkins and off through the woods we came back. They have cute little pumpkins in the trees and set up doing funny things like a pumpkin jail. The kids liked it. It was a beautiful day!

I finally got some pic's of Hayley! She would move behind one of the girls in front so I couldn't take her pic. This is our small squad of 6 but they're nice girls and 6 works great! We cheer this weekend and football is finished for the year. This is the last year of LYF for Hayley. In middle school they try out for cheer and need to know back hand springs. Hayley doesn't want to do cheer anymore. Which is fine. She'd like to play volleyball or hockey again.
